Dr. Tamás Regőczi

Dr. Regőczi is a surgeon, proctologist and plastic surgeon. Born and raised in Budapest, he spent his last college year in the United States and started medical university in Kansas before returning to Budapest. He graduated from Semmelweis Medical University in 1999, and spent the last year of his studies in Germany. He completed his specialist exams in surgery (2006) and plastic surgery (2010).

A longtime staff member, Dr. Regőczi has been working for Szent Imre Hospital since his graduation, first at the Surgery department, and lately at the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery department. Professional development took him back to the States in a breast surgery centre in Topeka, Kansas, to Germany teaching ER practices and participating in a neurological course. He also worked in the Szent Borbála county hospital for two years, at the Telki Private Hospital, and practiced emergency surgery in Zsámbék.

Dr. Regőczi has been teaching general surgery for medical postgraduates since 2005, and his professional achievements are widely published and discussed at medical conferences.

As a proctologist, he is a specialist of the painless Longo staple procedure (PPH) for advanced haemorrhoid patients. His private practice had been running successfully for more than a decade.

In general surgery, Dr. Regőczi is known for the fast and effective restorative treatment of abdominal hernia and dermatological lesions, cosmetic and restorative breast surgery, and a broad range of plastic surgery operations.

His greatest professional achievement to date is working as a leading surgeon in a newly built Canadian hospital. His ward was granted the highest international accreditation (Accreditation Canada International – Diamond level). In the meantime he had several opportunities to work alongside Dr. Nelson H. Goldberg, professor of the University of Maryland Medical Center (Baltimore, USA), assisting at surgical, plastic surgery and restorative operations.

Dr. Regőczy is highly proficient in English, speaks German at conversation level.
